This
house was certainly a busy home with 5 children! When they started to grow up, the home also
became an elegant place for the parents to entertain.
The Living Room &
Dining Rooms were the focal point of this traditional style, center hall Colonial
house. The Westchester couple preferred a comfortable but elegant, traditional
style. Since the two rooms were located next to one another, a smooth transition in color and style was chosen.
A beautiful hand made
Oriental rug in neutral tones, was chosen for the Dining Room. Custom venetian
plaster walls were rubbed with a pearlescent tone to make the room shimmer.
Existing chandelier and sconces received a face-lift with custom-made silk and
French bead lampshades. A medallion was added above, painted in gold and silver
leaf. The soft romantic feel of the room continued with a beautiful mirrored
server and large Chinese vase, with gold detail. New slip seats were
reupholstered in a silky material, on the chairs of their dining room furniture.
